St Augustine's Church, Thorpe Bay payed tribute to the soliders of D-Day by raising a Union Flag.
"As we remember the thousands of personnel who, with such unimaginable bravery, stormed the beaches of Normandy, we are truly grateful for their service and their sacrifice. It is thanks to them that we enjoy freedom and peace today."
