10 March 2026

On Saturday 7 March, the Elmore Quartet performed a special concert in support of this year’s Bishop of Chelmsford’s Lent Appeal. The audience enjoyed a programme featuring works by Haydn, Beethoven, Bartók and Shostakovich, performed at Bishopscourt -  the home of the Bishop of Chelmsford.

The concert raised £1,500 for the Bishop’s Lent Appeal, which this year is supporting the Anglican Development Services of Mt Kenya East, as they lead inspiring, community‑driven work to restore the environment and strengthen livelihoods across our five linked partner dioceses - Embu, Kirinyaga, Meru, Mbeere and Marsabit - in Kenya.

Speaking after the event, the Rt Revd Dr Guli Francis-Dehqani, The Bishop of Chelmsford said:

“I’d like to express my heartfelt thanks to all those who attended the concert and the Elmore Quartet for performing. As a result of people’s generosity a fantastic amount was raised for this year’s Lent Appeal which will enable the Anglican Development Services of Mt Kenya East to expand vital climate and conservation projects that will help communities in the region build resilience to climate change, as well as improve biodiversity, enhance food security and create economic opportunities rooted in environmental stewardship.”
