Celebrating Change-makers in our Diocese
Join us as we celebrate the achievements of change-makers in our diocese this Black History Month. In the video below, The Revd Sharon Quilter, our Diocesan Racial Justice Office, explains how you can get involved by telling us about a change-maker in your community.
Do you know a change-maker in your community?
Is there someone in your church, worshipping community or church school who has delivered positive, Christ centred, change in your community? If so, we would love to hear their story and celebrate them!
You can tell us about their achievements and their contributions by sending us either a short 60-second video or 150 words of written content.
The video or written piece needs to include the following:
- Your name.
- The name of the change-maker you are nominating
- The role of the change-maker and which parish/worshipping community/school/organisation they are part of.
- The reason they are being nominated, why they are a changemaker and examples of their achievements and work in the community.
- Please also supply a photograph, or photographs, of the change-maker you are nominating to accompany your video or written piece.
We have put together a Guidance note to help with your entry, this note includes tips for filming video.

Upcoming events
Gatherings to discuss plans for a Global Majority Heritage (GMH) ‘Chapter’
Join us for an informal gathering to find out about plans for a new GMH ‘Chapter’, hear from our Diocesan Racial Justice Officer, The Revd Sharon Quilter and other speakers and take part in a Q&A, with refreshments and opportunities for networking.
- Do you live and work in the Diocese of Chelmsford and identify as of Global Majority Heritage?
- Do you long for a space where you can share ideas and experiences whilst giving and getting support and encouragement from like-minded colleagues?
If you have answered yes to the above, this event is for you.
The aim of this gathering is to create a space where we can support and encourage each other; bring light into the darkness of the things that hold us back; pray with and for each other so that together we are empowered to be the catalyst to bring about the Christ-centred change needed in our diocese, worshipping communities, churches and the wider communities in which we live and serve.
There are two events planned. Please book at your place at your chosen venue, on the links below.
Wednesday 16th October, 12:30-2pm at St Andrew’s Hornchurch Church Hall
Wednesday 23rd October, 6:30-8:00pm at Chelmsford Cathedral
