Spiritual Companionship Certificates presented

10 October 2025

On the evening of Tuesday 7th October, Chelmsford Cathedral hosted the launch of the Chelmsford Diocese Spiritual Companions Network and the presentation of certificates for those who have recently completed the Chelmsford Diocese Course in Spiritual Companionship.

The Diocese of Chelmsford Spiritual Companions Network is a body of trained, authorised Anglicans (some ordained, some lay), who meet with individuals to listen attentively, help them discern God’s guidance and encourage them in their journey of prayer and faith. It is led by the Rev'd Ann Coleman, Spirituality Adviser for the Diocese, alongside the Rev'd Andy Griffiths, Lead Adviser for Formation and Wellbeing.

The Rev'd Andy Griffiths commented on the launch of the Chelmsford Diocese Spiritual Companions Network:

“It was fantastic to launch the Chelmsford Diocese Spiritual Companions Network and to celebrate with those who have completed the Diocesan Course in Spiritual Companionship at the Cathedral this October.

“In the People of God, everyone has a gift – something specific God has equipped them to do. Could your gift be accompanying others as a spiritual companion? If you are interested in exploring a ministry of spiritual companionship, please get in touch.”

Congratulations to all those who received certificates.
