A residential course, run twice yearly, across the Eastern Region dioceses, for those who are new to incumbency or priest in charge posts.
In the Chelmsford Diocese this is part of a pattern of clergy Continuing Ministerial Development for those new to post.
This free residential conference, currently offered twice a year, spans two nights and three days. It aims to cover some of the practical information and knowledge required to lead a parish, in the context of seeing clergy as leaders in mission, providing you with a ‘toolkit’ of resources and information, which you can draw upon to find particular answers as and when you need them. There is also an online version offered in the autumn of each year.
It is led by those with experience of continuing ministerial development and people with particular expertise from participating dioceses (Chelmsford, Ely, Peterborough, Norwich, St Edmundsbury and Ipswich, St Albans).
Incumbency Skills is a requirement for all ministers taking up an incumbent's role for the first time, and you will receive an invitation to attend. Please contact your CMD Adviser for details.
It can also be helpful for anyone already in an incumbency role, including those transferring from a different diocese.
If you are an experienced incumbent and feel you would benefit from this course please speak to your CMD Adviser.
