More than 300 clergy and licensed lay ministers from across the Diocese of Chelmsford gathered at the 2023 Bishop's Study Day at Chelmsford Cathedral on Shrove Tuesday.
The Study Day was led by Dr Jane Williams, McDonald Professor of Christian Theology at St Mellitus College.
Introduced by the Bishop of Chelmsford, the Rt Revd Dr Guli Francis-Dehqani, Dr Williams spoke on the theme of the 'Living from grace'.
In 1 Corinthians 15.10 Paul says, “By the grace of God, I am what I am.” That is true of all of us: we live from the undeserved and unearned grace of God and are called to offer to others from what we have been given.
During the Study Day participants explored what this life might look like for each of us individually and for us together, in Essex and East London. In particular what this means for our direction of travel as a Diocese.
