During the May half-term, three young people from the St Mary's Church Kelvedon Junior Christian Club along with their families and Rolo the dog, completed the Three Peaks Challenge to raise funds for the church.
The team successfully conquered Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon and exceeded their fundraising target of £1,000, to raise a total of over £1,500.
On completion of the challenge, St Mary’s Church, Kelvedon Facebook page shared:
“Huge congratulations to our incredible team who have officially completed the Three Peaks Challenge — scaling Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon with grit, determination, and a lot of tired legs (and paws…)
“We’re so proud of all of you and so grateful for the funds you’ve raised to support the church. What an amazing achievement — and all for a great cause!”
On the team’s Crowdfunder page, challenge organiser posted:“Thank you all for the donations and helping to raise over £1000 for the church! Thanks for all your support.”
The Revd Natasha McMichael, Assistant Curate at St Mary’s Church said:
“The three young people from our Junior Christian Club and their families did an amazing job completing the Three Peaks Challenge and we are grateful they chose to raise money for St Mary’s. We celebrated their achievements at our 'Worship 4 All' service in July where we interviewed the team, along with Rolo the dog about their experience, finishing the service with a rousing chorus of 'Ain't no mountain high enough'!”
