“I am delighted that Amy has been appointed to the role of Area Dean, and this is good news for the Deanery of Newham.  I know she will be well supported by the parishes and worshipping communities in the deanery as she takes on this additional responsibility. I also give my thanks to the Revd Canon Dave Chesney who made an outstanding contribution during his time as Newham Area Dean. Dave has moved to a new role as Vicar at The Good Shepherd, Collier Row, in the Havering Deanery. Please join me in praying for both Amy and Dave as they prepare for their new roles.”

“I am honoured and humbled to be invited to serve as the new Area Dean of Newham. Having served as one of the Assistant Area Deans and previously been the director of Newham Youth for Christ, I have seen first-hand the energy, resilience, and spiritual depth that characterise this borough.

“I have been serving as the Vicar of St Luke’s Canning Town since January 2020 and as part of a team at St Matthias Canning Town for the past three years. It is a joy to journey with these two vibrant and faithful congregations.

“I am mindful of the significance of this moment and grateful for the encouragement and trust placed in me. I look forward to serving alongside the faithful people of Newham as we support one another in ministry and mission, seeking to be a faithful witness to Christ in one of the most diverse and dynamic parts of London.”
