On Monday 3 February, Chelmsford Diocese hosted a visit from The Revd Guy Hewitt, Director of the Church of England’s Racial Justice Unit.

During his visit, Revd Guy met with members of the Bishop’s Leadership Team and the Diocesan Racial Justice Advisory Panel. He also had the opportunity to meet with clergy and lay members from across our diocese and to share with them more about the work of the Racial Justice Unit, the Church’s progress towards implementing the recommendations in the 'From Lament to Action' report, and plans for parish resources.
Speaking about the Revd Guy’s visit, The Revd Sharon Quilter, our Diocesan Racial Justice Officer said:
“It was fantastic to welcome the Revd Guy Hewitt to our diocese for the day and to hear about the important work of the Church of England’s Racial Justice Unit and how we can all play a part in bringing about the Christ-Centred change we need in our diocese, churches and local communities to tackle racism and promote racial justice. The key message of Racial Justice is how our Love of Neighbour is actualised in public, is one I believe goes to the heart of all our ministries and service in God’s kingdom."
