The 'Parish Safeguarding Dashboard
The 'Parish Safeguarding Dashboard' is a simple to use, online tool that can be used on a smart phone, tablet or computer. It helps parishes keep track of safeguarding and keeps you up-to-date with local and national changes in safeguarding requirements. It includes the five National Safeguarding Standards, against which parishes are asked to evaluate their progress.
The Dashboard is now being used in most Dioceses across the country and is viewed as an incredibly useful parish tool.
Every Parish in Chelmsford Diocese will be required to use the Safeguarding Parish Dashboard to track their progress in all areas of safeguarding compliance. The data can be shared with PCCs to evidence safeguarding compliance.
- One PSO from every parish should now have received an email invite from The Dashboard Team for them to 'own the safeguarding dashboard' for their parish(es)*
- Where there are more than one of you who have PSO responsibility for a parish, only one of you will receive the invitation to join the Dashboard, this is because The Dashboard Team sending these can only have one email address per church.
- The green 'Accept' button within the email inviation only works for 14 days*
- Once you have registered you can then invite others (e.g. the other PSO) to join the Parish Safeguarding Dashboard, however they will only be able to view the information. If you wish them to also become 'owners' of the Parish Safeguarding Dashboard you will need to request a change to their status for them to have equal permissions to update the system.

Safeguarding Hub
The Safeguarding Hub enables all aspects of safer recruitment and training requirements to be recorded in one place. The Safeguarding Hub is available to all parishes and has been purchased by the diocese with the aim of making the recording and storing of this information simpler and more efficient.
A Safeguarding Hub has a suite of tools to help a parish with safeguarding.
The first three tools:
- Keep track of DBS checks and safeguarding training.
- Create role descriptions and person specifications.
- Track the safer recruitment of new volunteers.
