The Bishop of Chelmsford, the Rt Rev'd Dr Guli Francis-Dehqani has shared the following message at the start of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.
"My warmest good wishes to Jewish friends, communities and all those celebrating Rosh Hashanah across the Diocese of Chelmsford and beyond.
At this time of thanksgiving, reflection and prayer, when Jewish communities mark the anniversary of the creation of Adam and Eve, I am reminded of all that unites us and the importance of us continuing to work together for reconciliation where there is pain and division, here in the UK and of course in the Middle East where so many continue to suffer on all sides of the conflict, including those who are still held hostage.
As you celebrate this Rosh Hashanah with your families please be assured of my prayers for peace, security and blessing for you and your loved ones.
Shanah Tovah!"
