We are seeking an incumbent who is compassionate, prayerful and wise: a leader with experience of building relationships with the local community, particularly with young people, children and families. We recognise that serving as Vicar of St John’s offers both opportunity and challenge, and we are looking for someone who is innovative, practical and committed to developing the church’s engagement with this expanding and diverse area of East London.
St John’s is the parish church of North Woolwich and Silvertown. It is situated between London City Airport and the River Thames, with the Woolwich Ferry only a short walk away. The parish is richly diverse, with an established working-class community, newer riverside developments, and a growing mix of cultures and ethnicities.
