Three new Honorary Canons were collated and installed at Chelmsford Cathedral yesterday afternoon, while the Rev'd Canon Christian Krieger was admitted as a new Ecumenical Canon.
Honorary Canons
The three new Honorary Canons are:
- The Rev’d Canon Ken Wylie, Vicar at St Andrews Hornchurch, Priest in Charge at Holy Cross Hornchurch and Area Dean of Havering.
- The Rev’d Canon Kim Lepley, Team Rector of the Pearl Cluster of churches in South Essex.
- The Rev’d Canon David Rollins who is Rector of St Mary the Virgin, Corringham and St Michael, Fobbing and Area Dean of Thurrock.
The Rev'd Canon Christian Krieger admitted as Ecumenical Canon
The sermon at yesterday's service was preached by the Rev'd Canon Christian Krieger who was admitted as an Ecumenical Canon. Christian grew up in Alsace in a Lutheran family. He was educated in Protestant theology at the University of Strasbourg France and has served as a pastor for 17 years in l'église réformée du Bouclier.
From 2012 to 2022 he served as the president of the Reformed Church in Alsace and Lorraine and vice-president of the Union of Protestant Churches in Alsace and Lorraine. Between 2018 and 2023 he was President of the Conference of European Churches. Since 2022 he has been the president of the Protestant Federation of France.
